Chronic stress and anxiety, has a debilitating affect on peoples lives causing disturbances in their performance at work, with family relationships and worse still; detrimentally affects their mental and physical well-being. As a society, we are so prone to over-thinking and worrying that we need to develop a way of stilling our minds.

People have lost the ability to balance their lives, to slow down and focus on the important tasks at hand.  Many of us have so much on our minds, trying to juggle the ever-increasing demands on our time that we function quite regularly on auto-pilot.

Mindfulness is the practice of staying focused in the here and now, rather than being consumed by the past or being distracted by needless worries of the future.  Being mindful is a mindset that creates harmony, opens up creativity and focus that increases work performance and enables you to access logical thinking and remain calm in stressful situations. 

Aim of the Program

 

The ‘ten2zen’ program aims to deliver

  • Understanding around the neuroscience of stress and anxiety and why mindfulness techniques have proven results in these areas.

  • Introduce participants to a myriad of simple mindfulness practices that can be applied instantly in your personal and professional life.

  • Choose the one/s that best suit you as a daily ten-minute practice and reap the benefits of knowing how to manage stress, stay focused, and increase productivity as well as personal contentment in life.

MEET THE FACILITATOR / GUIDE

Sheilagh Mac

Sheilagh holds the following certifications; Master Degree in Metaphysical Science, Post Grad in OH&S, Diploma in Chinese Acupressure and Eastern Iridology, Diploma in Behavioural Change Psychology.  She is a Certified Coach, Master Practitioner of Neuro-linguistic Programming, Eriksonian Hypnosis and energetic healing. She is currently completing her Phd. in Metaphysical Psychology; focusing on scientific evidence that proves the beneficial correlation between mind practices and anxiety disorders, PTSD and depression.

TEN2ZEN    |   BEYOND THE REALMS

Sheilagh has lived in India, Nepal and Singapore for the past seven years and is the founder of Elite Realms and the Ten2Zen Extraordinary Living Series. She has a master’s degree in Metaphysical Science and has been a meditation practitioner of various eastern philosophies for twenty-seven years. She has over 20-years experience and education in the field of human development, within the corporate and individual sectors.Sheilagh first began her career by founding a corporate health consultancy in Australia where she created and implemented success programs for Australian government departments and international organisations; including Parliament House (NSW) and Singapore National Defence.  As well she oversaw the development of several nationwide businesses and international health conferences.  Sheilagh created the first ever ‘Mind Body Spirit’ congress in Australia in 1992 to 1994, after which she passed the concept to the Australian National Health and Fitness Board.

Sheilagh is a powerful trainer, and coach and holds a deep understanding into the struggle of the human psyche. Having vast experience in positive psychology, neuroscience and organizational change, honed ‘at the coalface’; means that her clients can be confident of the most effective expertise available, when it comes to understanding strategies that address the psychological and physiological underpinnings that block people from living extraordinary lives.

In 2008 Sheilagh herself experienced severe burnout and devastating personal loss, which sent her into depression and severe anxiety.  Seeking the help of trained professionals she began the road of rebuilding her life fully.  As part of her rebuilding process, in 2010 she left Australia on a soul searching sabbatical and travelled to Egypt, Israel and finally to the Himalayan Mountains of Dharamsala, India; the home of His Holiness The Dalai Lama.  Here she remained for a year where she founded a volunteer project for Tibetan refugees and studied earnestly with His Holiness and the Tibetan Monks.  It was through their guidance and teaching that she learnt the path to compassion, forgiveness and true happiness.

 “Through my life experiences and the teachings I received from the monks, my life has dramatically changed forever.  I can now say that I live my life in a deep state of peace and happiness.  Does that mean I never feel stress or upset?  No, but with the practice of meditation, mindfulness and changing my perspective on life, I am now able to move through the ‘disturbances’ of life with much more ease and grace.  I now live my life in flow.”
